Matteo Dell’Acqua, associate professor at the Center of Plant Science of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, is among the plenary speakers at the new edition of Plant Biology, scheduled from 5 to 9 August in Savannah (Georgia, USA) and organised by the American Society of Plant Biologists. Specifically, Dell'Acqua will participate in the Presidential Symposium on the opening day of the event whose topic is the connection between plants and people. Together with Dell'Acqua, speakers include Gustavo MacIntosh, President of the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB), Matthew Raiford, Barbara Schaal (Washington University), Terri Long (University of Georgia).

“When it comes to agriculture, plants and people are really two faces of the same coin - explains Matteo Dell’acqua on event website - In a sense, when we domesticated crops thousands of years ago, they domesticated us too. So much human history has been shaped by the opportunities and constraints of agriculture.”
